The other side of the world
The point directly opposite Japan on Earth is in the southern Atlantic Ocean. Based on its longitude, the local solar time there is now . At that point it is currently daytime. That point is exactly on the other side of the Earth: 35.7° S, 40.3° W.
On the open sea there is not always an official local time zone. We therefore use local solar time based on longitude.
