About us
Who builds this website, how world-time information works, and where to find the explainers?
CurrentLocalTime.com is a free tool from Groot Creatieve Media to quickly see what time it is anywhere in the world. Search for a country, city or region and get the local time, the difference from your location, sunrise and sunset, a day/night indication and practical tips such as when it’s a good time to call.
We built the site because “what time is it in …?” is an everyday question — for travel, family abroad, remote work and international meetings — yet many answers online are cluttered or out of date. Our goal: one calm place with up-to-date world time and clear, reliable explainers about time zones and related topics.
What you’ll find on CurrentLocalTime.com
- Live local time for countries and cities worldwide, including time zone and UTC offset.
- Time difference from your own location, so you instantly know whether it’s morning or evening there.
- Sunrise and sunset per place, with a timeline to look ahead and back.
- Tools such as a personal world clock, time-difference calculator, best call times, arrival-time helper and an interactive world map.
- Guides on time zones, sunrise/sunset and FAQs — so you don’t only see a clock, you also understand how it works.
How the information is produced
Local times and time zones are based on standard IANA/Olson time-zone data, the same source used by modern browsers and operating systems. Sunrise and sunset times are calculated from the coordinates of the place you select. Weather and country facts come from external sources and are meant as an indication, not as an official source for critical decisions.
Governments can change time-zone or daylight-saving rules. For important travel, flights or business deadlines, always double-check official sources as well. See our disclaimer for more detail.
Guides and explainers
Alongside the tools we publish short, original guides about world time. Start here:
- What is UTC? — world standard time and how it differs from GMT.
- Daylight saving time — when clocks change and why time differences sometimes shift.
- Jet lag — why eastward travel often feels harder and practical travel tips.
- World time for remote work — finding overlap and scheduling international meetings without friction.
- What is a time zone? — UTC, time differences and daylight saving, with an interactive map.
- Sunrise and sunset — day length, twilight and special cases such as the midnight sun.
- Frequently asked questions — practical answers about world time, calling and travel.
We’re expanding this knowledge base step by step with new original articles — for example on UTC, daylight saving in Europe, jet lag and world time for remote work.
